M. with all members present, Also present were members of a citizens committee, Mr. Utley, Dr. Erickson and P§rs. Sommers. This committee was present to discuss the matter of the Cascade Pump. it was decided that the Park Board would write this committee a letter outlining the Park Board budget for the year 1949, also sending them a list of property oimers abutting the Millpond so that these interested residents could be informed of the Park Boards offer to pay $250 as their share of the expense of maintaining the Pump,during the year 1949. At this time, Ben Woehler presented,a plan whereby the Park Board could have an ice planer made at the Village shop for approximately 1F 300.00 and that the Minneapolis Park Board would lend Edina their planer to be used as a pattern. The cost of the Minneapolis Parr Board planer is :"590.00. Par. Woehler was authorized to go ahead with this plan, 11r. Strazhauer suggested that Howard Merriman be offered the baseball coaching job again this summer at a salary of X100 or ;125 per month, and that he be given an assistant. also his hours would be shorter than last summer. Mr. Stvachauer offered to contact the authorities in charge of the Shady Oak sffimming beach in Hopkins concerning bath house facilities there and also to contact 11-1r. Boyce in regard to acting as swimning instructor again this summer,a The meeting adjourned at 10 P1 MQ Respectfully submitted, Secretary.
