Members present - Strachauer and Lewis.
A suggestion was made that some of the small islands in the Country
Club district be eliminated. Mr. Lewis was asked to consult Engineer Smith
and talk this matter over.
Mrs. G. W. Elverum appeared at the mettingi asking about property to
be used for park purposes on 56th Street west of the Beltline. She was in-
terested in a lot on Yvonne Terrace and had been told by the Koelsch Realty
Company that the Village wasLputting in a park. She was told that the Park
Board had no such plans at this time.
Lewis moved that the islands (3) in Edina Highlands be kept mowed
this summer by the Park Board. Strachauer seconded the motion.
Howard Merriman was present and the baseball program for the summer was
discussed. It was decided to start the baseball program on June 13th and
the swimming program on June 20th. Mr. Merriman was to prepare a bulletin
on the baseball program to be sent out to all citizens in Edina with the
letter concerning the swimming program. Mr. Merriman also asked for a week
in July to attend the National Athletic Convention in Boston as a delegate
from suburban Hennepin County.
