A committee consisting of Mrs. G. H. Ferguson, Mrs. Melvin Woodworth$
and Mrs. Ernest R. Davis was present, They voiced their objections to a
playground which they had heard was contemplated at 57th & Chowen on three
lots which are designated as park property. This;committee was assured that
nothing was going to be done in the near future in developing this area and
that in the future, if anything were contemplated, all residents in the ad-
jacent blocks would be notified and given a chance to voice their objections
or approval.
Mr. Strachauer reported that approximately 560 children were registered
in the swimming classess, which are being conducted by the Edina Park Board.
Because of the polio incidence in Richfield, the Edina -Mites game with
Richfield had been cancelled.
Mr. Strachauer has been checking daily with the medical and health
authorities in connection with continuing the program in swimming instruction
and has been told to continue until such a time as polio becomes prevalent:•
in Edina or Morningside.
