Members Present --Lewis and Strachauer.
The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P. M.
Mr. Strachauer reported that the Park Board had agreed to pay $250.00 on the
Pumping cost for Mill Pond. If there was any surplus of voluntary contributions
for this purpose at t he end of the year, same is to be given to the pumping service
in 1950.
The matter of additional warming houses was discussed. Mr. Lewis to check
with Phil Bailey concerning construction and cost. Prefab houses were suggested
for the construction.
The Mirror Lake skating rink to be publicized.
The new Village code went into effect on July 1. It provides a two mill levy
for the Park Board. There will be no more elections of Park Board Commissioners
as the Village Council will appoint the members.. The members duties will stay the
same as before. Members may be paid for salaries and fees at discression of Council.
Park Board has the priviledge of hire and fire. Members appointed council will
continue in office until relieved by public hearing.
Strachauer reported that the regular budget in 1950 would be increased by
:1,000. The greatest need for funds is to acquire property. Village will have
to augment budget in relation to item two and three of same by Special Bond Issue.
Strachauer reported that the members of the Village Council were in favor of
the Bond Issue. Park Board will determine definite amount and procedure in connection
with special bond issue to present in final form to the Village Council on
September 26.
The subject of a swimming pool adjoining creek bed was brought up. It was
questioned at to how to bring a constant flow or outlet of pure water. Arden
and 52nd was presented as a probable spot for construction.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:45 P. M.
