Members present --Lewis and Strachauer
Meeting was called to order at 8:00 P. M.
Henry Wrobleski suggested Harry C. Hansen, 5221 Idest 56th Street, as a
potential candidate for Park Board Commissioner.
The resignation of Howard Clark, chairman of the Park Board, was submitted
to the Village Council on September 26, 1949. The resignation was accepted
by the Council.
Mr. Strachauer and Mr. Lewis recommended to the Council that E. K. Scoggin
5003 Bruce Avenue, be appointed to fill the vacancy by Mr. Clark's resignation.
The Council deferred action on recommendation until October 10.
Mr. Strachauer is to be Chairman of the Park Board and the Park Board mem-
ber of the Village Planning Commission effective October 11 1949 and for the
balance of the year to fill the vacancy left by Howard Clark.
Miss Holland is to ask Ben Tdoehler what progress he made on the ice
scraper. Mr. Woehler reported that the progress was coming along fine.
She was to ask Phil Bailey about the warming houses and tell him not to place
them without discussion with the Park Board,
Mr. and Mrs. Jack 11. Kuehn, 4505 Edina Blvd. questioned the unsightliness
of the Village property at 50th and Wooddale and request immediate landscaping
and improvement of property to be used by Village. It was expl.ai.ned to Mr.
and Mrs. Kuehn of the lack of funds provided for the Park Board. Mr. Strachauer
also explained to him the Park Board's plans for more warming houses, tennis
courts, etc. Mr. and Mrs. Kuehn were both in favor of the Park Board's pro-
posals after they were explained to them.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 P. M.
