Members present --Messrs. Strachauer, Lewis, and Scoggin.
Meeting called to order at 8:00 P. M.
A representative committee of three, Mrs. James Delaney, 4201 '07. 70th St. ,
Airs. John Cameron, 5432 W. 70th St., and Mrs. George T. Kane, presented a
petition to the Board of Park Commissioners in regard to setting up a skat-
ing rink in the Cahill District. Airs. Delaney reported there were over 100
children and 20 adults who were without skating facilities in the immediate
Cahill District. There were 62 signatures on the petition.
Mr. Danen offered to locate a. warming house for the Board to use in the
Cahill District, which he said would not cost more that $25.00 to 330.00.
Mr. Danen also offered to do the scraping on the ice this Winter.
Two locations suggested for the Cahill rink are:
1. The West side of the school
2. Between the Church and school
Air. Strachauer suggested drawing up a release to be -signed by the Catholic
Priest, Father Forrey, the School Officials and other indi,ridual persons
connected with the skating rink for reimbursement in case of accident to
the property, the water well, or whatever the matter may be.
The Cahill T-iother's Club offered to check with the school and Father Forrey
to see about using there water to flood the rink.
In order to obtain funds for the skating rinks, Air. Strachauer suggested
going before the Village Council and present a picture of the Park Board's
funds and ask to have a free grant in the amount of $1,500 with the
promise to return any money not used. It was passed by unanimous approval
by the Park Board.
The Park Board has agreed on four locations for skating rinks, and two
potential locations for the fifth rink:
1. Millpond
2. 57th and Chowen
3• 52nd and Arden
4. Mirror Lakes

be able to locate another warming house.
Alr. Strachauer suggested re -locating the Mirror Lakes Warming House to a
spot where it could be seen convienently from the road.
Ala°. f'r�e agreed to sell the property in verbal form to the Park Board
for 'x;2500, if approved by the Council.
The Meeting was adjourned at 10:15 P. M.
