After a short discussion, it was decided that the secretary should receive $2.00 for each meeting. The property for park area near Mirror Lake which was appraised recently was brought up for consideration. A price of $2500 for one piece and $5000 for the other was,set by • the appraisers. Added to the property which is to be deeded to the Park B oard, these two pieces would make a total area of about 52 acres. Although the Park B Bard at the present time has no funds with which to purchase any land, it was recommended that this property be considered for purchase and that a letter be --sent to the Council asking them if they had any suggestions concerning the purchase. At this time, Village labor charges to be paid from Park Hoard funds, was brought up for discussion. A request was made for a map showing areas designated as park property in the Village. A petition signed by residents adjacent to the pond on Lakeview Drive and also by several families living near the pond was read, asking that a warming house be erected on the east side of the pond. Clark objected, saying that there were other warming houses in the near vicinity and that they should be more widely scattered throughout the Village. It was decided to put up just two warming houses at the present time, one at the Millpond and the other at 52nd Street. Clark was to contact residents near Mirror Lake to find out if they wanted a warming house there and about how many people would use it. A request from Bob Johnson, asking that the vacant lot just north of 5408 Kellogg Ave. be flooded for children in that neighborhood was made. The Park Board recommended flooding this lot. A letter from Mrs. Barry Hanson, 5400 Park Place was read asking for use of the hockey portion of the skating rink at 52nd & Arden for one hour on Saturday mornings for a figure skatfing class. A motion was made that a letter be written to Mrs. Hanson saying that there was no objection to this plan. Carried. An objection was voiced by members of the Park Board to charging the Park Board funds for full cost of the Cascade pump. Respectfully submit ed: Vic, Sec aryo
