April 25, 2007, 5:00 – 6:00 pm

Members Present: Mark Johnson, Mary Jo Kingston, Idelle Longman, Brad Montgomery, Tolu Oyelowo
Members Absent: Jan Johnson, Bill Alldredge

WELCOME & CALL TO ORDER
Chair Mark Johnson welcomed members and called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm.
The purpose of this special meeting was to begin planning a town forum for fall 2007. The two suggestions for topics to consider were mental illness/mental health and obesity. After
discussion, a motion was made by Member Longman, seconded by Member Kingston that the Committee plan a forum on obesity.
In planning the forum, consideration must be given to the targeted audience, Bloomington and Richfield Health Boards, link to “Fit City” and “Fit School” programs, school district and
parks department partnering and availability of the Council Chamber. Budget money is not available.
A suggestion was made to name the forum 2007 Fit City, “Childhood Obesity Challenge”. Committee members were encouraged to search for potential speakers. Planning will continue at the
next Community Health Committee meeting on May 15, 2007.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion made by Member Kingston and seconded by Member Longman to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 6:00 pm
