SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS TO THE HENNEPIN COUNTY AUDITOR

WHEREAS, the Edina City Council duly adopted resolutions at their October 5 and OQ144 Edina
City Council meetings where numerous special assessments were levied for a number of
projects.
WHEREAS, the notice each property owner received included instruction for prepayment of the
special assessment to the Assessing Dept. 4801 W 50th St., Edina, MN 55424
WHEREAS, several payments were received prior to the November 30 deadline however
payments were received as part of utility payments and not allocated against the appropriate
special assessment until after the special assessment had been certified to Hennepin County.
WHEREAS, Hennepin County now states that when taxing authorities seek to abate a special
assessment that has been certified they must do so by action of the entity that has the authority
to impose the tax, or by a board responsible for reviewing abatement and reduction of special
assessments as contemplated by MN Statute Section 270C.86 Subd. 1.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall transmit a certified duplicate
copy of this resolution and the list of special assessment corrections to the County Auditor to be
extended on the proper tax list of the County. The list of the special assessment correction is:
