PROCLAMATION
"CHILD HUNGER ENDS HERE DAY"
WHEREAS, the City of Edina, Minnesota is proud to support Child Hunger Ends Here
(CHEH) Neighborhood Rallies in support of ConAgra Foods call-to-action for people to rally
their friends and neighbors to help end child hunger in the U.S., and
WHEREAS, Nearly 17 million children in the United States don't get enough food to
live active, healthful lives — that's one in four kids who don't know where their next meal is
coming from, and
WHEREAS, ConAgra Foods is encouraging people to host parties/events and transform
their EXISTING community events (bake sales, rummage sales, neighborhood picnics, etc.)
• throughout the Spring/Summer into a CHEH Neighborhood Rally — with a commitment of a
portion of the proceeds donated to Feeding America, and
WHEREAS, ConAgra Foods is also going to donate $1 to Feeding America for every
purchase of a participating brand during the campaign—up to 2.5 million meals.
NOW, THEREFORE, 1, Mayor James B. Hovland, do hereby proclaim April 20, 2010 as
"CHILD HUNGER ENDS HERE DAY"
in Edina, Minnesota.
