Subject: Public Health Law Center Presentation Discussion
ACTION REQUESTED:
Discussion with those attending including: Public Health Law Center staff, Members of the Transportation
Commission, Health Commission and Energy and Environment Commission.
INTRODUCTION:
Presentation to share findings from a recent policy scan by the Public Health Law Center conducted in Edina to
assess opportunities for healthy eating, biking and walking in the city code and other official controls as well as
inform the Comprehensive Plan process. Mary Marrow, J.D., of the Public Law Center along with two research
assistants have been working over the past few months on an extensive review of Edina's policies in order to
identify areas that may be useful for the City to address in order to increase healthy eating, biking and walking in
the city, PHLC will share findings and answer questions in preparation for publishing a memo of key findings and
recommendations to move forward to promote Healthy eating, biking and walking within the Comprehensive
Plan Update.
