Fire damages Edina home on Sherman Circle
Edina, Minn., March 1, 2016 – The Edina Fire Department was called to the 6100 block of Sherman Circle
at 12:28 p.m. Monday, Feb. 29, after a smoke alarm alerted the homeowners of a fire.
Fire crews arrived to find an active fire in the laundry room and garage. Firefighters were able to quickly
extinguish the fire with minimal damage to the home. There were no injuries.
“The residents were able to quickly exit the residence after a working smoke alarm alerted them to the fire,”
said Fire Marshal Jeff Siems. “Residents should test their smoke alarms every month and change the battery
every six months to ensure they are always working.”
The Edina Fire Department received mutual aid from the Hopkins and St. Louis Park fire departments.
