Art On the Move Working Group Seeks New Members
Edina, Minn., March 31, 2016 – The City of Edina Arts & Culture Commission is developing a new working
group called Art On the Move. Applications are being accepted for the working group.
Art On the Move is comprised of residents with the purpose of advising the Arts & Culture Commission on
ways to increase awareness of local artists and explore the feasibility of traveling exhibitions outside of the
Edina Art Center. The group’s goals include identifying locations for exhibition space and assisting with sale of
artists’ work in Edina in order to increase patronage and viewership of both 2-D and 3-D art in the community.
Residents may apply online at EdinaMN.gov/advisory-boards-commissions. Applications are being accepted until
April 18.
“This group will focus on strategy and planning for the many requests received by the Art Center to feature
local artists in venues such as businesses, churches and other places,” explained Art Center General Manager
Michael Frey. “Art On the Move will oversee and help define that process.”
Members of a working group serve as volunteers and are not a part of the Commission’s active members. Art
On the Move is comprised of six to eight members and meets monthly.
