The Arena needs many volunteers to assist with the weekend activities, primarily serving as door monitors. The role of the door monitor is to keep unpaid guests from entering, as well as keeping malt beverages and wine purchased at the event from leaving the facility. Brief training will be provided to ensure volunteers are set up for success. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and will receive a free admission ticket for every game for which they volunteer. In addition, volunteers will receive a T-shirt and the ability to enjoy the game while volunteering. “Volunteering for a city is the greatest way a resident can give back to his or her community,” said Project Coordinator MJ Lamon. “Volunteers can enhance the services and programs the City has to offer. The Volunteer Edina program hopes to engage residents and others interested in helping out while expanding the volunteer opportunities within the City.” For more information, or to fill out an application to volunteer, visit EdinaMN.gov/Volunteer or contact Lamon at 952-826-0360 or MLamon@EdinaMN.gov.
