The meeting will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at the City’s Public Works & Park Maintenance Facility, 7450 Metro Blvd. At the meeting, there will be a brief presentation and question-and-answer session describing the progress made since the last meeting in February, followed by an opportunity to work hands-on to evaluate proposed recommendations and solutions for Grandview’s transportation network. The focus of the meeting is transportation for the entire Grandview area, and will not focus on a single site. “We are excited to share with the community the proposed recommendations for the Grandview District. Stakeholders, along with the consultant team, have worked hard to develop solutions that will guide transportation improvements in Grandview for years to come,” said Transportation Planner Mark Nolan. The public can also attend presentations at the City Council’s 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 17 meeting or at the Transportation Commission’s 6 p.m. Thursday, May 19 meeting. Public comments will not be taken at those meetings. The Grandview District Transportation Study builds off the 2011 Development Framework; provides an analysis of existing transportation conditions; and explores, refines, clarifies and expands on recommendations made in the Framework. The City hired architecture and engineering firm LHB, transportation firm Nelson/Nygaard Consulting and Alta Planning + Design to lead the study and to identify needs, challenges and opportunities and to review and evaluate recommended changes to the transportation network of Grandview to meet the community’s long- term needs.
