Braemar Arena Is Home of Summer NHL League Games
Edina, Minn., July 16, 2016 – The inaugural Minnesota-based NHL Summer League, Da Beauty
League, kicked off July 12 at Braemar Arena, 7501 Ikola Way.
Every Tuesday and Thursday night through August 4, six teams in the league will play 4-on-4 hockey.
There will also be playoffs and a championship game held Aug. 9-10.
“This is an exciting opportunity for the City of Edina and Braemar Arena to host such high level of
talent at an affordable price for families and fans,” said Braemar Arena Assistant Manager Roxann
Maxey. “Da Beauty League gives an opportunity to provide a summer cool-down experience with
indoor ice entertainment.”
The roster features 76 NHL and amateur league players, including numerous Minnesota Wild
players, including Zach Parise, Mike Reilly and Nate Prosser. There are also hometown Edina players,
including Tyler and Louie Nanne and Joe Finley, who plays for Iowa Wild.
The six teams are named after their sponsors, ASPIRE Sports Drinks, Tradition Companies, Sports
Digita, RBC Royal Bank, Velocity Hockey Center and Walser.
The first game on July 12 was attended by over 500 attendees, and is a growing hotspot for Edina
and greater Minnesota residents.
“I believe Edina residents will find that this is a great opportunity to spend an evening in their
community watching NHL-level athletes compete at their hometown rink,” added Maxey. “It makes
me feel very proud we have a facility that can provide such opportunities.”
Tickets for Da Beauty League are just $5 per night, or $25 for a season pass. They can be purchased
at Braemar Arena on game day one hour prior to the games. Concessions are also available
throughout all three games held each night.
