Edina Art Center Remembers Longtime Member
Edina, Minn., Sept. 30, 2016 – The Edina Art Center will hold a totem tribute and silent auction 5-8 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 20, in memoriam of longtime member, gift shop artist and pottery student Kathy Parker, who
died in May after battling an aggressive Glioblastoma brain tumor.
“Kathy was very loved at the Art Center,” said Edina Art Center General Manager Michael Frey. “Her caring
and kind heartedness affected everyone she met.”
Parker has generously donated her artwork, art books and studio equipment to the Edina Art Center.
The reception will include the installation of ceramic totems in tribute to Parker and a silent auction of her
artwork and books. Light refreshments will be served. Proceeds from the silent auction will go to the Edina
Art Center.
