Edina Arts & Culture Commission to Host a Music in Edina
Valentine’s Day Celebration
Edina, Minn., Feb. 9, 2017 – A Valentine’s Day celebration of Music in Edina will be held 7-9 p.m. Saturday,
Feb. 11 at Braemar Golf Course Clubhouse, 6364 John Harris Drive, Edina. Admission is free, though donations
are gratefully accepted. This program is supported by the Music in Edina Working Group, part of the Edina Arts
& Culture Commission (ACC).
“This is the third-annual Valentine’s Day event that we’ve had at Braemar Golf Course and it’s always a lot of
fun. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the Rockin’ Hollywoods open at 7 p.m. and play two sets from 7 to 9 p.m.,” said
Edina Art Center General Manager Michael Frey, who serves as staff liaison for the ACC. “It’s is a free event
that is open for all ages. Food, beer and wine will be available for purchase at Tin Fish restaurant.”
The Rockin’ Hollywoods is a throwback rock ‘n’ roll band that covers music from the 1950s through the 1980s.
The band was formed in 1973 and utilizes period costumes and choreography.
The Rockin' Hollywoods were voted “Best Performing Artist” for 1987 in the Minnesota Music Awards. The
Minnesota Ballroom Operators Association (MBOA) voted them “Band of the Year” for 1986 and 1989. The
band has been nominated virtually every year since 1976 by the MBOA, and nominated in 1986 and 1988 by the
prestigious Minnesota Music Awards Academy.
