Crime Writers Share Humor Secrets at Edina Art Center Event
Edina, Minn., March 15, 2017 – Five of Minnesota’s best mystery writers will share their secrets for
adding doses of humor into crime stories during a Saturday, April 8, event at the Edina Art Center, 4701 W.
64th St.
People who attend “Write Funny or Die — Finding the Humor in Crime Writing,” which runs 10-11 a.m.,
likely will hear about authors they haven’t read before. Exposing readers to a diversity of voices is one goal of
the event.
“I think it will give people in Edina an opportunity to find new writers and new books that they would enjoy
for themselves and others,” said Jessica Mork, Edina Art Center’s volunteer coordinator for literary events.
The following authors are scheduled to attend:
Midge Bubany, author of the Cal Sheehan mysteries
Jessie Chandler, Goldie Award-winning author of the Shay O’Hanlon capers
Barbara Deese, author of the No Ordinary Women mysteries
Pat Dennis, stand-up comedian and author of “Hotdish to Die For” and the Betty Chance mysteries
Christine Husom, author of the Snow Globe Shop mysteries
In addition to a panel discussion, there will be readings and time for a question-and-answer session.
Admission is free, and there is no need to register.
