This is the 19th consecutive year the City has held a tree planting event for Arbor Day. The event is a requirement in order to maintain the City’s status as a Tree City USA community, a program that celebrates urban tree canopy and improved care of City trees. Overholt is hoping more residents will join him in the planting this year. “My goal with this year’s planting is to increase the diversity of trees in Sherwood Park. We will plant Iron Wood, Black Walnut, Ginkgo and Kentucky Coffee trees,” said Overholt. If you would like to participate in the planting, meet at Sherwood Park at 10 a.m. For more information, contact Overholt at LOverholt@EdinaMN.gov or 952-826-0308. -30-
