Share Your Vision For 44th & France
Edina, Minn., June 13, 2017 – Community members are invited to attend a workshop to discuss the future
of 44th & France from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 29, at Edina’s Public Works & Park Maintenance Facility,
7450 Metro Blvd. Light refreshments will be provided.
The small area plan will provide guidance for important issues like redevelopment, streetscape and aesthetic
treatment, vehicle parking and pedestrian and bicycle facilities for the 44th & France area. The small area plan
is part of the larger city-wide Comprehensive Plan update. The workshop is being led by the 44th & France
Small Area Plan Work Group.
“Getting members of the community involved in the planning of the 44th & France area is really important,”
said Transportation Planner Mark Nolan, who’s also the project manager for this effort. “Since the Work
Group is made up of Edina residents and area property owners, this process is both led by and for people
with a real and vested interest in identifying what they love about the area, and planning for what may change
in the future.”
Participants will:
Learn about the study process and final products, including what is and what is not included.
Hear about the work the Small Area Plan Work Group has been doing.
Help to develop a set of guiding principles for the future of the area.
Participate in small group activities to provide ideas on opportunities and issues for the area.
