City seeks input on passenger rail in Edina in second Community
Conversation
Edina, Minn., Aug. 22, 2017 – The City of Edina is talking to residents and businesses about the possibility
of studying passenger rail service through the community, specifically in the Dan Patch Corridor.
The Dan Patch Corridor runs north-south through Edina just west of Minnesota Highway100. Through a
combination of public input and analysis of existing conditions and policies, the Transportation Commission
will make a recommendation to the City Council in October regarding future study of passenger rail in
Edina.
The City will host the second of two community conversations on this topic Thursday, Sept. 7. The
conversation will be held at the Public Works & Park Maintenance Facility, 7450 Metro Blvd. Consultants will
recap the input received at the first community conversation, review results of an existing conditions and
policy analysis, and field additional questions before recommendations are made. The community conversation
has an open house-style, but formal presentations will be made at 5 and 6:15 p.m.
To learn more about the project and read a summary of public feedback from the first community
conversation, visit the project website at EdinaMN.gov/passenger-rail-report.
