TO REDUCE SPEED LIMITSWI H ACTIVE WORK ZONEAREAS
ON LOCA R ADWAYS
WHEREAS, for worker safety the City of diva is in need from ti to time to reduce
regulatory speed limits on local roadways onw ich construction, reconstructi or repair activities
are occurring; and
WHEREAS, under Minnesota Statuts S+tion 169.14, subd. 5d, tl�e City of Edina is
authorized to reduce speed limits in active wor zo es on local roadways; and
WHEREAS, under Minnesota Statut Suction 169.14, subd. 5d, tl e City of Edina is
authorized to double fines for violating any reg lat ry speed limits in work zon S.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Coun it o the City of Edina, Minnsota, authorizes the
City Manager to reduce regulatory speed limit wit in active work zones and impose double fines
for vehicles violating the reduced regulatory sp ed 1' its.
