NATIONAL FAMILY WEEK C (ty of ra d l Ml
NOVEMBER 24 - 30, 2002
WHEREAS, Edina recognizes strong families ar at the center of strong c mmunities; and
WHEREAS, everyone has a role to ply in making families successful, including
neighborhood organizations, businesses, non-profit agencies, policymakers,
and of course, families themselves; and
WHEREAS, during Thanksgiving week we all Ehould take time to honor the importance of
families, and recognize the special connections that support and strengthen
families year-round; and
WHEREAS, we all should recommit to enhandrig and extending all families' connections;
and
WHEREAS, with the assistance and resources f local agencies and or nizations such as
Family & Children's Service arid i national partner, the Alliance for Children
and Families, we can help families of all shapes and sizes cr ate a better future
for all of the Minneapolis -St. Paul area.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Dennis F. Maetzold, Ma or of the City of Edina, d o hereby proclaim
November 24 through November 3 , 2002, as

in the City of Edina.
