A RESOLUTION DELEGATING.AUTHORITY TO PAY CLAIMS CIty Of Edina
TO THE POSITIONS OF CITY MANAGER AND FINANCE DIRECTOR AND IN
THEIR ABSENCE, TO THE ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER AND
ASSISTANT FINANCE DIRECTOR
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes Section 412.271 Subdivision 1 provides that the City Council
has full authority over the City's financial affairs, including the disbursement of public funds; and
WHEREAS,Minnesota Statutes Section 412.271 Subdivision 8 allows a City Council to delegate
its authority to pay certain claims; and
WHEREAS, the Edina City Council finds that there are numerous advantages to the City in
delegating this authority to administrative officials; and
WHEREAS, the appropriate internal accounting and administrative control procedures related to
the payment of claims have been developed as presented in Appendix A and are hereby approved and
incorporated into this resolution.
• NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of Edina, that the authority to
pay certain claims is delegated to the positions of City Manager and in his absence to the Assistant City
Manager,and to the Finance Director and in his absence to the Assistant Finance Director; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that claims lists of all claims paid will be presented to the City
Council for informational purposes at the next regular meeting after payment of the claims.
