PROCLAMATION
FAIRVIEW SOUTHDALE HOSPITAL DAY
July 19, 2000
WHEREAS, Fairview Southdale Hospital has been has been caring for residents of
Edina and the southwest metropolitan area for 35 years; and
WHEREAS, Fairview Southdale Hospital is a 390-bed hospital with 24-hour-a-day
services for the physical, mental and spiritual needs of its patients and
families; and
WHEREAS, with 2,200 employees and more than 600 volunteers, the hospital is
one of the largest employers in the City; and
WHEREAS, the hospital will reinvest in the community with a $55 million
expansion designed to increase capacity to serve patients and families
and the community at-large,
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Dennis F. Maetzold, Mayor of Edina, do hereby proclaim,
July 19, 2000 as
Fairview Southdale Hospital Day
to honor the hospital's commitment to our community and mark the
groundbreaking of its much anticipated expansion.
