Free Valet Parking Available at 50th & France
Edina, Minn., Feb. 8, 2018 – In order to alleviate concerns about parking at 50th & France while
major construction is under way in the area, the City and developer are offering free valet parking
to all visitors.
Project Communications Coordinator Pat Tucker expects that shoppers will not have issues finding
a place to park their car.
“We want the customer experience to be pleasant and unaffected by the improvements that are
being made to the parking ramps, therefore we’re offering free valet. It’s an easy way for shoppers,
restaurant patrons, clients and patients to park their car when they visit the area -- no strings
attached!” said Tucker.
The free valet parking is available to shoppers from now until September. Valet parking can be
found at 50th Street and Halifax Avenue, as well as Market Street and France Avenue from10 a.m.
to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. Uniformed valet attendants will be stationed near D’Amico &
Sons and Spalon Montage; look for the valet stand and signs. The service is provided free of charge
for customers, clients and guests. Tipping is not required or expected. In addition to the valet
parking, both the Center and South parking ramps are still available for public parking.
Construction on North Parking Ramp at 50th & France began in January. It will be closed until March
30 and reopen for public use on April 1. The Center Ramp will be razed when the North Ramp is
restored to use; this ensures that the two ramps will not be simultaneously closed. Construction is
paving the way for the addition of over 400 apartment spaces, new retail spaces and several large-
scale public art murals. The first phase is expected to be completed in September, and the final
completion date is expected in September 2019.
