Unseasonably warm weather, long droughts and flooding rains are the new normal for spring and summer in Minnesota. Metro Blooms is hosting several workshops during which you can learn how your yard can adapt to and even help mitigate threats posed by extreme weather. Those who attend will receive information about installation cost-share programs and Blue Thumb resources to help get a project in the ground. The ‘Alternative Turf’ workshop is 6:30 -8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17. The ‘Creating Resilient Yards’ workshop is 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 24.. Both Edina workshops are at the Public Works & Park Maintenance Facility, 7450 Metro Blvd. Workshops are scheduled from now to June 7 in surrounding communities. The cost is $15.
