HomeMy WebLinkAboutMay 1 Pizza_With_Police City of Edina • 4801 W. 50th St. • Edina, MN 55424 Contact: Jake Omodt, Communications Intern Phone 952-833-9522 • commintern@EdinaMN.gov • EdinaMN.gov FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Enjoy Pizza With Police at Rosland Park Edina, Minn., May 1, 2018 – The Edina Police Department, in partnership with Brew Pub Pizza, will host Pizza With Police 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, at Rosland Park, 4300 W. 66th St. Pizza with Police provides residents the opportunity to visit with and meet their local law enforcement officers. This is the second consecutive year Brew Pub Pizza has organized events during National Police Week, May 13-19. During National Police Week, 20 percent of all Brew Pub Pizza sales at Jerry’s Foods and Cub Foods in Edina will be donated to the Minnesota Law Enforcement Memorial Association (MN LEMA). In addition to Pizza with Police in Edina, Brew Pub Pizza will do similar event in Overland Park, Kansas, Saturday, May 12, and Madison, Wisconsin, Friday, May 18. “Bernatello’s Foods and Brew Pub Pizza love to support local law enforcement, veterans and those who serve us and our communities,” said Brew Bub Advertising and Promotions Manager Matt Selvig. “This is a small way we can give back to them.” Brew Pub Pizza will bring its pizza trailer to Rosland Park and provide law enforcement officers and their families with a free slice of pizza. Guests attending the event are encouraged to make a $5 donation to MN LEMA in exchange for a pizza slice and beverage. The Edina Police Department will have multiple officers at the event, as well as its SWAT BearCat for display. A motorcycle officer and K9 officer will be present for questions, conversations and pizza as well. “It’s going to be another great opportunity for our officers to get out there, meet with our residents and show our ‘human side,’” said Lt. Dan Conboy. “The more people that can come out, the better. The officers who will be at the event love being out there. It’s a win, win for the department and the community.” All donations collected at the event will be donated to MN LEMA, an organization that helps families as they deal with the loss of a loved one in the line of duty. “Come on out, bring the kids and thank your local law enforcement,” said Selvig. “We will have face painters, a balloon maker and yard games.
