Author’s Studio Features Local Authors
Edina, Minn., May 7, 2018 – The Edina Art Center will host the next Author’s Studio 10-11 a.m. Saturday,
May 19. The Author’s Studio is held in the Margaret Foss Gallery at the Edina Art Center, 4701 W. 64th St.
This Author’s Studio will dive into Silence of the Loons: History’s Mysteries in the North Star State. The book
features 19 nefarious narratives exploring the dark side of “Minnesota Nice.” Each story is set against a historic
period or event impacting the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Stories come from the Wild West Days of Fort Snelling to
the Great Hinckley Fire of 1894 and the famous Halloween Blizzard of 1991.
The event will start off with coffee, baked goods and a few words from the book’s editors, followed by the
authors reading from their short stories. After, the authors and editors will be available to answer questions
and sign books. Midge Bubany (“You Picked a Fine Time to Kill Me, Lucille”), Marlene Chabot (“More Than
Lessons”), Barbara Deese (“Twisted”), Judy Kerr (“Ruby Red Heist”), Michael Allan Mallory (“Not So Legendary
Outlaws”), and Cheryl Ullyot (“The Professional”) will all be in studio for this event.
