LORRAINE HELGESEN DAY
JANUARY 2, 20 19
WHEREAS, Lorraine Helgesen was born on January 2, 1918. She is currently a resident at York
Gardens in Edina; and
WHEREAS, When Lorraine and her husband, Russell Helgesen, were residents at 7500 York, they
were instrumental in the development of York Gardens and its memory care and
assisted living units which facility is immediately adjacent to their residence at 7500
York; and
WHEREAS, Lorraine has been the quintessential supportive and loving mother, grandmother and
wife and in the midst of her memory challenges, she remains a pleasant, smiling and
cheerful person who is an inspiration to all of her many friends and family.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, James B. Hovland, Mayor of Edina, do hereby proclaim, January 2, 2019, as
LORRAINE HELGESEN DAY
in the City of Edina, to honor Lorraine Helgesen's lifetime of great citizenship and the
celebration of her 100`h birthday as a resident of the City of Edina, MN.
