50th & France Community Meeting Set for Oct. 23
Edina, Minn., Oct. 2, 2018 – Help shape the future of the 50th & France area by attending a
community meeting Tuesday, Oct. 23.
The 50th & France Small Area Plan Work Group is hosting its third community workshop from 7 to
9 p.m. at the Edina Public Works & Park Maintenance Facility, 7450 Metro Blvd. Drop in any time
during the event.
Previous community meetings have focused on issues and opportunities, vision and principles, and
draft development concept alternatives. This workshop will include refinements to the development
concept based on feedback from those earlier meetings. The work group will present a possible
future design for the area, including the types, locations and sizes of possible buildings, locations of
public spaces and ideas for changes to the roads and pedestrian access points.
People who haven’t attended a community meeting before are encouraged to come.
“No one will be lost,” said Dan Edgerton, Senior Associate at Zan Associates who is helping the
work group develop the Small Area Plan. “An explanation through progressive illustrations,
conversations with work group members and presentation materials will get people up to speed.”
The 50th & France Small Area Plan, when finalized, will become part of the 2018 Comprehensive
Plan Update for the City. The Comprehensive Plan guides development, infrastructure and amenities
for coming decades.
