Each of the seven classes will be led by a local fitness business or organization. The program is part of the City’s effort to encourage a healthy community and promote health equity. Classes are open to adults of all fitness levels and abilities. No registration is required. “Fitness on the Field will allow people the opportunity to try a fitness class without the trepidation they might feel at the gym,” said Edina Recreation Supervisor Nicole Gorman. The first class, at 6:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, will be led by Orangetheory Fitness of Edina. Admission to Braemar Field, 7509 Ikola Way, is $5 and is paid at the door. Once inside, each class is free. People should bring a yoga mat to this first class. The dome tends to be about 50 to 55 degrees inside, but temperatures can fluctuate based on the weather so dress in layers. Future classes will be held 6:15-7:15 a.m. Fridays about once a month on the following schedule: • Nov. 16: Orangetheory Fitness • Dec. 7: F45 Training • Jan. 4: Alchemy 365 • Feb. 1: Physical Culture(v) • Feb. 22: Southdale YMCA • March 1: PhyoFlo • April 5: Alchemy 365 For more information on the Fitness on the Field program, contact Gorman at ngorman@EdinaMN.gov or 952-833-9571. -30-
