Walk With the Mayor Scheduled for Jan. 12
Edina, Minn., Dec. 20, 2018 – The January Walk With the Mayor is scheduled from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday,
Jan. 12. The walk will be held at Galleria Edina. Participants should meet near the Starbucks near Door 4.
“Please stop at Starbucks and get a cup of coffee or tea and join me for a good stroll through Galleria, which
should still be celebrating a great holiday season,” said Mayor James Hovland. “By the time we meet on Jan.
12, there should be ‘sale’ signs in quite a few of the merchant storefronts, which could cause some of our
walkers to divert either during or after the walk! I look forward to good walking and fine conversation for all
who are able to make time for Walk With the Mayor in January.”
Participating in the Walk with the Mayor gives community members a chance to voice concerns, share
opinions and thoughts as well as just talk with Hovland while getting to know the City a little bit better. No
prior registration is required to attend Walk With the Mayor; simply show up at the designated meeting time
to walk and talk with Mayor Hovland.
Upcoming walks include:
9-10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Galleria Edina, meet near the Starbucks near Door 4
9-10 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at Southdale Center, meet near the Caribou Coffee in center court
Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes.
