Take a ride on a horse-drawn wagon, watch ice sculpting in action or skate around the ice before warming up by the fireplaces. Make sure the kids stop at the face painting station. Bring your own skates or rent them for $6 per pair at the Hughes Pavilion, which serves as a warming house and concession stand. Kick sleds are also available to rent for $8 per hour. Skating and admission to the festival are free. Centennial Lakes Park is located at 7499 France Ave., with plenty of free parking located near Hughes Pavilion. While the recent unseasonably warm weather has been challenging for outdoor skating, Centennial Lakes Park General Manager Tom Shirley noted the upcoming forecast calls for cooler temperatures. “We are looking forward to a great day of ice skating!” Shirley said. The skating status for Centennial Lakes Park is updated regularly on its Facebook page. Or call 952- 833-9580 or visit CentennialLakesPark.com for more information. -30-
