Meeting on Design of Water Treatment Plant Canceled
Edina, Minn., Feb. 20, 2019 – A Feb. 27 meeting to understand the site of a new water treatment plant in
the Prospect Knolls Neighborhood has been canceled.
Earlier this month, the City Council selected the Dublin Reservoir, 7000 Dublin Road, as the site of a new
water treatment plant. Since that time, Council Members heard a number of concerns about how the site
was selected. At the Feb. 20 City Council meeting, Mayor Jim Hovland said the City is “pushing the pause
button” on the project and will reevaluate the next steps for a water treatment plant.
City staff will recommend a community engagement plan to ensure residents have an opportunity to share
comments and concerns for the plant.
