RESOLUTION NO. 2014-40
BRAEMAR CITY OF LAKES FIGURE SKATING CLUB
TEAM BRAEMAR
WHEREAS, Team Braemar is Minnesota's most decorated and successful junior synchronized skating team, representing
the Braemar-City of Lakes Figure Skating Club in Edina, Minnesota;and
WHEREAS, Team Braemar coached by Head Coach Taylor Walker and Assistant Coach Jessica Chaffee,will skate their
final performances of the season on May 2&3 at the Braemar-City of Lakes Figure Skating Club's 49`f'Annual Ice Show;and
WHEREAS, Team Braemar is considered one of the world's elite Junior level synchronized skating teams. In 2014,Team
Braemar competed as Team USA and took home the Silver medal at the Spring Cup competition in Milan, Italy; and
WHEREAS, Team Braemar won the 2014 Midwestern Sectional Championship; and
WHEREAS, Team Braemar placed 7`'overall at the 2014 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships in Colorado Springs,
CO;and
WHEREAS, Team Braemar is finishing its 8th consecutive season as a Team USA synchronized skating team; and
WHEREAS, we,the residents of Edina, are proud to be the home of Synchronized Skating Team;and
WHEREAS, Team Braemar athletes represent 12 different Minnesota High Schools and have demonstrated the
dedication, determination, and sportsmanship required to succeed at a high level of athletic competition,while maintaining academic
excellence;and 1
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Edina, Minnesota does hereby wish to recognize
the success of Team Braemar on Tuesday,April 22, 2014;
