Walk With the Mayor Scheduled for June 19
Edina, Minn., June 13, 2019 – The June Walk With the Mayor is scheduled for 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wedneseday, June 19 at Bredesen Park, 5901 Olinger Blvd. Participants should meet at the main
park building in Bredesen Park a few minutes before the start of the walk at 6:30 p.m.
“Bredesen Park is always a great place to explore. The City has recently made a number of improvements to the park. Last fall they removed gates that were previously blocking the nature
trail near the water. This change has really helped open up the trail for more use from visitors,” said Mayor Jim Hovland.
Participating in the Walk with the Mayor gives community members a chance to voice concerns, share opinions and thoughts as well as just talk with Hovland while getting to know the city
a little bit better. No prior registration is required to attend Walk With the Mayor, simply show up at the designated meeting time to walk and talk with Mayor Hovland.
Summer walks during the months of June, July and August will be held during the week to accommodate busy weekend schedules. Upcoming walks include:
6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, Bredesen Park
6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, Braemar Golf Course
6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, Centennial Lakes Park
9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, Rosland Park
9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, Arden Park
9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, Galleria
9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, Southdale Center
Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes. In the event of inclement weather, the walk will be held at Southdale Center. For more information or to suggest a location for a
