Open Streets on 50th will be held 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. The City will close West 50th Street between Wooddale Avenue in Edina and Chowen Avenue in Minneapolis for the fifth-annual “Open Streets on 50th” event. The street will be open to bikes and pedestrians to enjoy music, dance, games, crafts, yoga and other events. On average, the event draws 5,000 to 9,000 people. “Open Streets on 50th is an exciting opportunity to experience your city in a unique way,” said Recreation Supervisor Nicole Gorman. “We temporarily close city streets to offer an event that promotes community pride, encourages physical activity and connects people with local businesses.” Sponsorships are also available. A $250 Activity sponsor will get their name on the Facebook event listing and webpage, along with their name in the event guide and a free booth with a banner denoting sponsor level. A $500 Entertainment sponsor will get all of the above, plus their name on the event board at the entrances. A $1,000 Event sponsor will get all of the above, plus their logo on all of the marketing materials and prime booth location. Vendors can register online at EdinaMN.gov/OpenStreets.
