Enclosed you will find Frs. Wrftht °s letter, explaining an
error by the Village In specially assessing the above named parcel
for Sanitary Sewer No. 2008 (C-1 Trunk).
The owner of the above parcel., Ure H.C. Rohner, 6000 Olinger
Road, Edina, has been in touch with the Village ever since he reeei.ved
the tax statement payable in 19590 including this erroneous assessment.
The Village council has authorized the correction of the assessment,
but, in the meantime, the first half of the taxes have gone delinquent.
We would very much appreciate your correcting your records and
having a corrected statement forwarded to Mr. Rohner, in order that
the taxes may be paid, Also, since than error was made by the Village,
we believe that any penalty and interest accruing for non-payment of
taxes should.be waiv+edy and are herewith applying for such waiver.
Anything you can do for us will be very much appreciated. If
the matter of waiver of malty and interest is not your department,
will you please forward to the proper person for handling? Thank

The request; was referred to ovr Village Attorney and
Village Engineer for their opinions as to wha, could be clone
to get this matter nettled; and we hope to have an answer for

We are enclosing copy of a letter received recently from bko
Harold flohner, 6000 Olinger Road, Edina 24, requesting relief from
an assessment levied in 1958 for'$675 per acre on 12.5 acres—
increased from 1.25, :ores by removal of the meandered line of 1,43d
Lake. The letter Is self-explanato:t-yo and we would like tv havi.
your opinion as to what,, if @�,ythinqcan be done for Mr. Pohner.-
The legal description of this -property is "Beginning. at Mt
Core of Lot lt the E. 40 Rods; the S. to Mud Lake; the Wly along
shore of lake to W. line of Lot 1; the He to Beg�;i-iningll.
To, complicate matters further, the Village ASSiSSW S Office
has continued to show the parcel as 1.25 acres and has set the
valuation thereof accordingly.
We have, when requests have been received before levy of
'assessment, made adjustments for "swamp and unbuildeble land", but
Ur. Rohner was una%sre of the change in the area of his property
until he received his tax statement, and thus did not make the
proper application.
Nk, Rohner is anxious to know what can be done, and we sliguld
have s(zie legal advice on this by the Council Meeting of flay 11.
