STRONG KARL H. COVELL HARLAN B. STRONG January 24th, 1940. Mr. Ben B. Moore 104 3rd Avenue No. Minneapolis, Minnesota Dear Mr. Moore: I am informed that you would like the contract between the Village of Edina and myself as guardian, to provide that the village might pay more than the $250.00 per year mentioned in the contract. The sale was reported and confirmed with the conditions the same as set forth in the contract. However, I wish to assure you that I will accept any part of the purchase price in addition to the $250.00 per year at any time you wish to pay the same, and interest will be rateably reduced. In other words the faster this contract is paid up the better I will like it. This letter is written to avoid the necessity of changing the contract and I trust will be satisfactory to you. STRONG Mr. Ben B. Moore Village Clerk Village of Edina Minneapolis, Minnesota Dear Mr. Moore: January 24th, 1940. At the request of the Village Council, I have examined the title to the following described premises, to -wit: The following described premises situated in the County of Hennepin, and State of Minnesota, to-wit: All that part of Government Lot 8, in section 28, township 117, range 21, to wit: Beginning at..a point on the north line of ,said lot, 8,. 25,,fet east of the„_nox th rest,:.coz er .of said,. t,, $, thence soezth parallel with the west Line af,said Lot 8, to the center line of Eden Prairie Road as the same is now laid out iBd trave _1led Lo across said t,8; thence north-,/ easterly along the center of said :den Prairie Road, 735.8 feet, more or less, to a point on the north l.ine'of said Lot 6, said point being 675 feet east of the point of beginning; thence west along the north line of said Lot 8, to the place of beginning. Subject, however, to the right of way of the Minneapolis, St. Paul, Rochester and Dubuque Electric Traction Company (now Minneapolis Northfield and Southern Railway) and further subject to streets and roads as now laid out and used over and across said, premisesp as the same appears from an abstract submitted to me containing 32 entries, certified to November 17th, 1939, by Title Insurance Company of Minnesota. From said examination I am of the opinion that the record title stands in the name of Mary Newberg, subject, (1). Mortgage #28 (149996) running to Fred K. Willson for the sum of $ 600.00. I am informed that Mr. Willson has paid several years taxes, and that there are several years interest *npaid. (2). From the property above described there is &(cepted the railway right of way, and also one -half of Eden Prairie Road and Brookside Avenue, so that with these exceptions the property should be the same as In the caption of the abstract. The above description was used because on the abstract there is no evidence that either Eden Prairie Road or Brookside Avenue were conveyed to the village. (3)* one -half the tax for 1938 and the taxes for 1929, all of which Mr. Crimes as guardian has agreed to pay. I- Mr. Ben B. Moore January 24th, 1940. (4). Rights of anyone in possession, I am informed that you are now and for some time have been in the actual possession of these premises and the house now locat, Y xemo You should get in touch with Mr. Grimes and see that the insurance policies covering the buildings refer to your Contract for Deed. r
