The South Twenty -five feet of the -East Onteighth of the Southwest Quarter of
the Northeast Quarter of Section Seven (7), Township Twenty -eight (28), Range
Twenty -four (24), for road purposes, and if and when said land shall cease to be
used for road purposes, the same shall revert to the Grantor, its successors and
assigns. The said Village also to have the privilege, so far as the interests of
this Grantor are concerned, of making a slope of one to one upon the property
abutting said Twenty -five foot strip herein conveyed at the North side of 42nd
Street.
It is- mutually agreed between the Grantor and Grantee that the real considera-
tion of this deed is that it is given in lieu of acquisition of the same interest
by legal proceedings, and also in lieu of compensation or damages, or the assess-
ment of taxes or benefits such as might be made if legal proceedings to acquire
such interests in the property were had, except that benefits may be assessed and
taxed against the adjoining property on the North side for gradi and fitting up
the street in the sum of Sixty -nine Dollars and Ninety -six Centsl$68.86), payable
in ten (10) annual payments according to the proposed assessments for benefits
made by the engineer and clerk under the direction of the Council and on file
wi th the clerk.
