BARKER I enclose herewith two original, recorded copies of Conveyances of Forfeited Lands from the State of Minnesota running in favor of the Village of Edina, both covering a portion of Garden Avenue vacated. Both are dated May 2, 1969 and one has been recorded as Document No. 3775563 and the other as Document No. 3775468, both in the office of the Register of Deeds, Hennepin County, Minnesota. I send these to you to be retained in your records. You will recall that the exact place of recording these Conveyances was somewhat in dispute. The property may or may not be registered property. Because of the inability to determine exactly whether it is registered property we recorded the Conveyances in the office of the Register of Deeds. We thereafter attempted to record them in the Torrens office but were advised that in order to do that we would have to bring a proceeding subsequent so as to have a certif- icate of title issued for the properties. Thereafter, pursuant to our discussions, it was decided that it was not worth the additional funds required to bring that proceeding subsequent to show of record in the Torrens office the tax deeds to the Village of Edina. Therefore, there is no filing of these deeds in the Torrens office. If you have any questions on this matter, please advise. Very truly yours, TTm s .
