Limbeck began work as a Police Officer Jan. 21 and Sussman began work on Jan. 22. City Clerk Debra Mangen administered the oath to the two on Jan. 23. Surrounded by their families, Sussman’s father, Harvey, pinned his badge, No. 115 and Limbeck’s father, Edina Police Officer Marc Limbeck, pinned her badge, No. 112. Sussman graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from St. Cloud State University. Since, Sussman has worked as a police officer for the Minnetrista, Brooklyn Park, Mound and, most recently, Orono police departments. While with the Mound Police Department, Sussman held the position of sergeant for eight years. He also helped to organize the Police Department’s first Explorers program in 2008. Limbeck got her associate degree in law enforcement from Inver Hills Community College, and is currently working toward completing a bachelor’s degree in police science from Saint Mary’s University. Limbeck started her career with the Lakeville Police Department as a community service officer, before beginning as a sworn police officer nearly two years ago. “I’ve grown up wanting to be a police officer,” said Limbeck. “Police work, and the Edina Police Department, has always played a role in my life and I look forward to working for a police department that shares my same values.” “Our department has high expectations of our officers, and I’m confident both Sussman and Limbeck will certainly meet those expectations,” said Interim Police Chief Dave Nelson. “We’re happy to have them join the team.” For more information, contact the Edina Police Department at 952-826-1610. -30-
