Braemar Arena to celebrate Olympics, host special event Feb. 15
Edina, Minn., Jan. 28, 2014 – Braemar Arena and its figure skating professionals will host a special event
Saturday, Feb. 15, to celebrate National Skating Month.
Community members are invited to receive instruction from 1:10 to 2:40 p.m. on the East Rink of the Arena,
7501 Ikola Way. 1988 Olympics competitor Caryn Kadavy, staff professional for Braemar-City of Lakes Figure
Skating Club (BCLFSC), will be available to help skaters, as well as give commentary about the Olympics.
Attendees will also be able to view skating demonstrations by BCLFSC’s state and regional competitors. Team
Braemar, 2013 National Synchronized Skating Champions, will be in Milan, Italy, representing the United
States in an international competition that weekend.
For this event, open skating and instruction will be offered free of charge. Skate rental is available. Open
skating is available at other times for $4 per person.
“We are really looking forward to sharing our love for skating with those new to the sport,” said Kathleen
Gazich, Braemar Arena Lead Instructor.
