City receives three communications awards from MAGC
Edina, Minn., May 16, 2014 – The Minnesota Association of Government Communicators (MAGC) on
May 15 presented the City of Edina with three awards for work completed in 2013.
The City was presented an Award of Merit and two first-place Awards of Excellence in the 32nd-annual
Northern Lights Awards competition. The Parks & Recreation Activities Directory, a catalog of programs and
events, received an Award of Merit. A brochure on Braemar Arena and the talk show “Enterprise Edina”
received Awards of Excellence.
In addition, “Enterprise Edina” was one of 11 “Best of Show” nominees, representing the best in government
communications. “Enterprise Edina” is a monthly program highlighting local businesses and economic
development updates. It is hosted by Chamber of Commerce President Lori Syverson. New episodes air on
the 15th of the month, and replay daily at 2:15 a.m., 10:15 a.m. and 6:15 p.m.
“The Communications & Technology Services Department is very honored to receive these awards from our
peers,” said Director Jennifer Bennerotte. “We are especially thankful for our partnership with the Edina
Chamber of Commerce to produce ‘Enterprise Edina.’ Through the short monthly program, we are
showcasing the businesses and people behind them that make Edina a great community for commerce.”
The MAGC awards were presented at a reception at Eagle Valley Golf Course in Woodbury.
