Edina Public Works’ Facilities and Equipment To Be Showcased
at Special Open House Event
Edina, Minn., May 1, 2014 – They plow and maintain our roads. They keep us safe and comfortable. In
short, they keep our city running smoothly. They are the men and women of Edina’s Public Works
Department, and they would like to meet you!
Join the Public Works team from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, to learn exactly what it takes to keep
Edina orderly and functional. Moreover, stop by to feed your inner child – by devouring some hot dogs and
climbing on some really, really big trucks! While you are at it, bring the whole family. This event is perfect for
all ages. Public Works employees will be on hand to educate, answer questions and ensure safety.
Tour the facilities, try out some tools, eat some tasty snacks – and, of course, have a blast while you check
out the fire truck, Bear Cat, tractor, bucket truck, cam truck, miller, roller, sprayer – or any of the other
vehicles and attractions – like the brine system, sign maker and GPS/survey equipment.
Everyone is welcome to attend this free event, which is meant to educate, entertain and strengthen the fabric
of our community. The Public Works & Park Maintenance Facility is located at 7450 Metro Blvd. For more
