Minnesota Mosaic Guild at the Edina Art Center
Edina, Minn., June 13, 2014 – The Minnesota Mosaic Guild (MMG) will present its Annual Exhibit from
June 26 to July 30 at the Edina Art Center, 4701 W. 64th St.
The Guild will hold its Opening Reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 26.
Dozens of artists will display their mosaic works, using things such as glass, smalti, beads, broken china and
tiles – as well as a limitless array of found-object possibilities.
Some art is on glass and can be hung in a window for a stained-glass window appearance. There will be some
three-dimensional art as well. In the past, some artists have shown their work on pieces of furniture.
MMG was started in 2004 to promote the art of mosaic, foster exploration and experimentation in the media,
provide educational opportunities in mosaics and share and celebrate the diversity of experience and
knowledge in the media. Members emerge from a multitude of artistic backgrounds, including sculpture, art
instruction, jewelry making, graphic design and oil painting. Several members are professional mosaicists
whose work can be seen throughout the Twin Cities.
