Mayor Hovland Walks Centennial Lakes Park
Edina, Minn., June 9, 2014 – Edina Mayor Jim Hovland will lead his monthly “Walk with the Mayor” at
Centennial Lakes Park 9 a.m. Saturday, June 2.
“One of the great things about meeting at Centennial Lakes is that it’s one of our most popular parks,”
Hovland said. “[There’s] so much activity … it’s a beautiful place to spend a little time.”
This month’s walk will serve “to highlight all of the wonderful things that occur in the park in the summer,”
said Recreation Supervisor Kristin Aarsvold, who helps organize the monthly walks.
Hovland looks forward to being able to walk outside again with residents of Edina. “We should have a nice
walk past a beautiful waterway and all kinds of wonderful plantings,” he noted.
Walk with the Mayor events are held on the third Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. In case of rain, residents
should meet at the Caribou Coffee at Southdale Center.
