The 2014 Emmy nominees were announced Friday, Aug. 15. The City of Edina received nominations for:  Politics/Government – Program: “Agenda: Edina.” Other nominees in this category are “Almanac at the Capitol” (Twin Cities Public Television), “Capitol Close-Up” (NDC4), “Dangerous Men: Who Will Decide?” (KBJR-TV), “Surviving the Storm” (KGAN-TV) and “Talking Points” (WCCO-TV).  Interstitial: “Public Art Profiles.” Other nominees in this category are “Second Chance U” (Carlini Entertainment), TPT Brand Testimonials (Twin Cities Public Television) and “We Are the Burnsville Police Department” (Burnsville Community Television). Hosted by Dorothea Martti, “Agenda: Edina” is news program about actions taken at City Hall. The program airs daily on Edina Channels 16 and 813 at 2:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. A new episode premieres on the 1st and 15th of each month. “Public Art Profiles” feature the artists whose work is on display in Edina’s public spaces. The feature runs before or after other programs on Edina Channels 16 and 813. All City of Edina programming can also be viewed online. Entries made to the Upper Midwest Chapter were judged by panels assembled by other National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Chapters. These judging panels are comprised of no fewer than five judges with no more than three of the judges employed by the same station or company. There may be one award, more than one award or no award given in each category. The Communications & Technology Services Department has been nominated for at least two Emmy Awards each year since 2009, but has brought home the gold statuette just once. The Emmy Awards will be presented Saturday, Sept. 13, at Target Field in Minneapolis.
